Postage Stamp Quilt-along

So far I have sewn two sets, one set with 8 color strips and the second with nine color strips. Not sure if I want to sew these into one big section. The prints do repeat fairly often, do I want that or wait until the other sections are finished to mix in? I'll table this for a few days. I have other UFO's to work on like the Quilts for Kids top needs the final borders.

Today is nice, rain tomorrow so chores need to be finished outside, like mucking paddocks and chicken runs. Local quilt show in Sierra Vista I may drop in at today.

Pet Walk 2010 Tempe Town Lake

Last Sunday was the annual PetSmart Pet Walk for PetSmart Charities.
We got to the Pet Walk an hour before things started hopping!
This is Dad, Hootie & me at the entrance.
Here is Colin, from our Dales & Friends Group,
with his and Donna's Dales, Lucy & Charlie.
More Airedales from our Dales & Friends Meetup group.

Here we are checking out one of the watering stations.

And another buddy from Dales & Friends. By the way, over half of the dogs from our group were adopted from the SouthWest Airedale Terrier Rescue (SWATR).

This is Donna with Charlie, manning the booth for SWATR.

Mommy with us in front of the SWATR stand.

What do you suppose Mommy is doing here??

This is the Bowzer Beer stand. Good stuff!

Here is Hootie saying hi to a 10 year old Welshie names Lala. She growled at him. hehe.

Ooooo this is the start of the 1 mile walk. That's what we did.

Well what do ya know?
There was a WFT at the start of the race who gave Hootie a good luck smooch!

The line of people & pooches seemed to stretch forever.

Another view of the hooman and poochie 1 mile walk.

Yes, Hootie had to leave plenty of pee-mail.

It was such a beautiful day for a walk.

See Dad & me? The line split in two so we took the low road
and Mommy & Hoots took the high road.

Here are some of the Dales & Friends stragglers!
We were on our way back when they were just starting.

More pics of the Dales & Friends.

We had to check out the water's edge.
Kinda murky, but it's fed by a canal, so what did ya expect?!

The guy leaning over is Eddie and he really likes Hootie.
So many Dales. Who is who??

The little Welshie on the left is Maxwell.
He's the same age as Hootie, but he weighs about 10# less.
Hootie is such a substantial guy!!
Here's a better pic so you can see the difference in their size.

This guy is an Irish Terrier that we just met on Sunday.
Is he the McGillinator?
Oops, no he doesn't smell like McGillicutty!

Lookie, I love to do high 5 for treats.
Hey, you're supposed to give me 5 too lady!! Well, as long as you give me a treat you can slide on the high 5.

This big Dane was so friendly. I'll post a collage of all the different breeds of pooches on a future post.

Here's Mom and the Hootster.

Did you notice our folks have on matching shirts? CORNY!! At least it was easier to not get them lost. hehe.

Well, that's it for now. We had a lovely time at the PetWalk again this year and hope to attend next year. "God willing and the canal don't rise." Sure hope you all have a great weekend!

Rug Hooking at Saltbox Primitive Woolens You Need To See This Shop!

This morning Pati Jane, Sandra and I packed up the car and we were on our way from Oklahoma to the Rock Creek Hook~In located in Lenexa, Kansas....so on the way we drove up to Warsaw, Missouri to visit a wonderful little shop "Saltbox Primitive Woolens"

As we were riding up Sandra is busily hooking on a rug...yes you can rug hook in a moving vehicle if your not the one driving!

Okay...now to share pictures of a absolutely wonderful shop. We were greeted at the door and offered something to drink and a place to set our purses.

This is Patty Wallace the owner of Saltbox Primitive Woolens. They offer wool, patterns, supplies, classes, and just so much inspiration right inside the door!

Here is just a sampling of what waits inside...

I also had the honor of meeting a fellow blogger...Kati and she surprised me about knowing about my blog. It's always fun to meet fellow bloggers in person. She has hooked many of the rugs in the Saltbox Primitive Woolens Store.

Now if you ever get to Warsaw, Missouri be sure to stop in this wonderful little store you'll be glad you did.

Oh tomorrow will bring even more treasures as we will be visiting with Betty and her sil "Robin, and a friend we have yet to meet in person JoJo at the hook-in at Rock Creek so check back and I'll be sharing lots of pictures!
