Really Cool Stuff!!

We wanted to show you some of the really cool items Mom received in the mail yesterday. They came from Lorrie Veasey, the artist who makes Our Name Is Mud pottery! We were SO excited, cuz we just knew the box had something exciting in it. Turns out all 3 items inside had to do with us!!
There was this very cool mug that's big enough for a really nice cup of tea for our mommy. But look at what it says! Could it be more pawsome?!

Next there was this fabulous bowl. And look what it says inside. This Lorrie Veasey lady is like a doggy mind reader! Yes, everything is most certainly better with a little hair 'o the pooch! And look at the cute little paw prints on it. Bow Wowsers!

And last of all, Hooties favorite, this blue dog of happiness ring holder. Such wonderful all-dog presents. Lorrie we love YOU!! Mom says thanks a million.

Tomorrow after church we'll post some pictures of our trip to the Cosmo Dog Park in Gilbert, AZ. We had so much fun there...they have a lake just for dogs!! Now that's pawfect!

Smooches from pooches, Baby Rocket Dog & Hootie the Wonderdog

PS-Please keep praying for our buddy Bogart's daddy, Klaus. He is still in ICU, but had something of a breakthrough Saturday. So,keep your paws crossed, send healing thoughts and prayers their way. We all want to see a miracle.

Has anyone noticed?

Has anyone noticed that the area where your followers are has suddenly grown and expanded. It use to be just a nice little thing on my side bar and now the box is huge!!!! I really wish blogger wouldn't change things on on your page without telling you as it can really mess up all the hard work we put into our pages. It looks like a dull weekend for me, it is snowing AGAIN and they are fore casting 4-6"

~*GOT DIRT*~

We have had two beautifully warm days with little wind so what's a Grandma to do when a little boy says "outside" but to head on out the door. I thought it was time to introduce this little one to the joys of dirt and I must say he loves it.

What a great little helper with pulling grass and weeds as we began the spring cleaning of cleaning out the flowerbeds. Don't you just love the grin on this lil' farmer's face as he got so tickled at how the grass came right up. Don't think I'll get him around the onions my Mom and Dad just planted or I might be planting them over again.

All work and no play just won't do....so he had to try out the tricycle that I found at a thrift store. Just can't seem to reach the pedals just yet.

Oh how I wish my knees worked like that again. One of these days I need to get a picture of him and his Great~Grandpa Bob together as my dad still sets like this when he's fishing or just needing to take a rest.

Well the warm temperatures are gone once again and now the prediction is for a chance of snow for the next couple of days. Surely spring is just around the corner!

Honest Scrap Award & Tonight Is Another Pup Class

We got our first award today, the Honest Scrap, from our new friend, Scratchy Paws. We are really excited to get this, because now somedoggy, no names mentioned, now has to be truthful and not such a fibber!! Yes, Youootie know whootie you are!! Our own Mommy didn't pass it on to us when she had it, so we thank Scratchy Paws for recognizing the great potential we possess. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

Here are the instructions: "When accepting this auspicious award, you must write a post bragging about it, including the name of the misguided soul who thinks you deserve such acclaim, and link back to said person so everyone knows he or she is real. Choose a minimum of 7 blogs that you find brilliant in content or design. Or improvise by including bloggers who have no idea who you are because you don’t have 7 friends. Show the 7 random victims’ names and links and leave a harassing comment informing them that they were prized with “Honest Scrap" weblog. Well, there’s no prize, but they can keep the nifty icon. List at least ten honest things about yourself. Then, pass it on!"

Since there are 2 of us (one lesser than the other) we'll split up the chore, er I mean honor. Ladies first, ladies first!!

#1- Okay, I am really a scaredy cat when it comes to loud noises. I hate anything that clangs, chugs or rattles. When I was younger while walking down the sidewalk passing vehicles would make me cower. I am not proud of this.

#2- I hate having my hairs brushed. I will chew on the brush handle and act up most every time that nasty comb comes out. I am thankful the hoomans don't make me get stripped (like poor Kimi).

#3- I have deliberately pushed Hootie off of the big pillow. He always deserves it, but I act innocent like it is an accident.he he.

#4- I sneak up on the couch at night when everyone is sleeping. I jump down before they can catch me.

#5- I thought I was a Labrador Retriever when I was younger. My best buddy then was a sweet yellow Lab named Sophie and we'd always play together. The first time I saw an Airedale I was in shock...I thought what kind of strange, hyper dog is this! That is before we adopted Hootie.

That's it for me. Airekisses, BabyRocketDog

Oh goody, it's my turn! I, Hootie, will be very truthful to all our bloggy buds!

#1- I used to eat poop. Yes, and I still miss it. I am now a member of PEA (Poop Eaters Anonymous.) and am trying to keep my nose clean. Literally. I miss it's fragrant aroma. They have me sequestered in the city now, so all that good moose, deer and turkey poop is just a far off dream. Oh this is too hard. Must stop.

#2- I can't catch a ball and have NO desire to try. I would rather chew on it. There, I said it.

#3- I love Puppy Class. Next week is my last one and I wish it would go on and on. I could be a professional student!

#4- I think I am much larger than I really am. I'm 22#, but feel like I am abouCheck Spellingt 75#. I love big dogs. I would like to eat little dogs, like chee-wa-was. They run like little rodents and I was born to give chase to rodents!!

#5- I still pee on the hoomans floor regularly. They aren't always picking up my vibes telling them to let me outside, so I just let loose. I mean, what are tile floors for anyway? I'm thinking they have a purpose and that is to make for easy clean up, am I right?? Momma tells Daddy that I only do it when he gets home, so he takes the fall. I have it timed perfectly!

That is enough truth for now. Wow, I feel like I've been to see the doggy shrink. Such wonderful, freeing therapy! (Thaireapy for BRD.)

Now here are our picks for 7 new awardees (if these are duplicates, please forgive us):

1- OOOpppps! It's time to go to Puppy Class. We'll finish this when we get home.

Smooches from pooches, BRD & Hootie

Okay,I'm back & I gotta tell you I was a star. Did a perfect "roll over" and also "stay" for over 30 seconds. I was amazing, even if I do have to say so myself. Now on with the awards! Our computer just went down & I lost most of my award info. Kitty krap!! I'm gonna try to resurrect who I sent notes to. If I don't have you down here, please drop me a line. Thanks. XXX-Hootie the Wonderdog

#1- Princess Snowball is a lovely little lady who likes to play dress up.

#2- Moco is a terrier who lives with spaniels and is so adorable!

#3- A handsome Airedale fellow Kimi who is named after a race car driver! His mommy is an ace groomer!

#4- Dewey Dewster is a sweetie who lives with a Lakie and and another WFT. Lots of terrier fun!

#5-Molly a Jack Russell Terrier who is comfortable sleeping with cats and eyeballing turkeys from her house.

#6- Digsby Mac Feegle is still a pup, but he shows great potential. Go visit & he'll show you where to check for scary monsters!

#7- Lucia, yes, another airegal, but what do you expect?! We're terriers!

#8- Honey a gorgeous Goldengirl is fond of wearing wigs! She really doesn't need them though, cuz she's beautiful au natural!

Now we hope that you all go visit these fabulous pups blogs...and don't forget to come back here and see what mischief we're up to!!

Lots of love and kisses from BabyRocketDog & Hottie, oops, Hootie ;<)

WOW! I have some new buddies!!!

Dog oh dog! I am so happy. After mom and I went shopping for our prizes, we went to the leash free dog park and we met some new friends. Now normally I am rather timid (okay I am a scaredee cat around other dogs) but not today. I bounced right up to them and said hello, did some butt sniffing exchanges and then off we went, running, woofing and totally having so much fun. My new buddies are Lady - she is the Airedale and is 6 years old. Red, is the Poodle and he is 13 years old (He was dark apricot in color when they got him - hense the name Red - but has gone white with age) and Zippy he's a mixed something or other and is 5 years old. Of coarse being little he was the BOSS! We also met another dog, a nice Labrador but his Mom went in the other direction. We did three laps around the park and had a great time. Hopefully we can meet them again soon.

~*NOEL*~ A Start for Next Christmas

Oh what a beautiful day we had here today on the plains of Oklahoma. The wind finally calmed down and much of the daylight hours was spent outside chasing an active lil' boy. It seems as though the weather forecast for the weekend is suppose to bring in cold temperatures once again. Oh well that's Oklahoma for you one day it's in the high 70's and the next it can be freezing.

I have been working on 2 different rugs that Gene Shepherd has been offering some different techniques on and I decided I best concentrate on one and finish it up so I thought I would show you my first finish. NOEL just happens to be my daughter's middle name, she was born just 8 days before Christmas. So this rug will displayed above the mantel this year. I am pleased with how it all came together and I did learn quite a lot.

Sweet Kitty or Stress Kitty??

Auntie Maria in California adopted a cat she named Tana Montana, so Hootie and I went out and bought her a present. We figured if she has to be a cat, she might as well be a cool, pirate cat! We got these pictures with a thank you from our new feline cousin:

Isn't she a cutie??

Ooops! How did this get in here? hehehehe. More Later! Kisses, Hootie

Fabric Covered Boxes and a Lil' of This & That!

It's been a busy weekend and I'm pleased as can be with the fabric covered boxes I made. A group I belong to called "An American Primitive Gathering" hosted a weekend internet retreat. It's been great fun seeing all the photo's as everyone has worked on making covering boxes and completing projects.

I finished the redwork bunny announcing spring into a prim pillow.

These sweet lil' bunnies were primitively stitched with hand dyed crochet cotton to give it a time worn look then I fashioned it into a pillow stuffed with scraps of fabric to give it a olde~time feel.

I guess bunnies was the theme for the most part....finished up a sewing pocket to hold a little project.

Wool applique with just a touch of embroidery and there you have it a couple of tiny pinkeeps that would be great to take along for when you want to take work on a project on the go.

More covered boxes....may be why Danny decided to head on down to the barn as I was looking for more things to cover up with glue and fabric!

Now I'm off to see if I can start hooking the border on the "NOEL" rug that I've been working on. So it's been a productive weekend with the washing machine busily humming and several projects coming together.

Puppy Class Last Wednesday

Here is Daddy looking totally into my specialized training. See the enraptured look on his face?
This is my new friend Mowgli and his hooman momma, Liz. He's 3 months younger than I am. How come he is so much bigger??
Look at the camera you hunka Hootie!!

Once again, Dad's enraptured!! See how I'm really listening?

This is our trainer, Canaan. I think he's saying how perfect I am!!

And finally, what you have all been waiting for, my first attempts at "roll over"!

And friends, just a reminder: Please remember to keep our pal Bogart and his family in your prayers. So many pups & people are rooting for Klaus to get back home to his Lulu & Bogie. Here's a shout out to ya Klaus. Get well soon! We're pullin' for you. Lots of puppy smooches, BabyRocketDog & Hootie

Where is the World is Reilly?

Okay, so the mom still isn't feeling to good what with that flu thing and it has been very very cold here and I have been very very bored, so I decided I would go off and see this thing mom calls "the big wide world" and figured mom needed a vacation too.

Here are some of adventures so far - can you guess where I am? (I made these ones pretty easy because I know not many of you are world travelers like me and might not recognize them - but you can ask your moms and dads :) The places I went after these are much harder to guess. PS - If you are wondering how I got to all these places - well don't tell anyone but I have a teleportation device on my collar that can take me any where I want to go - my mom made it by accident while she messing with an electronic kit - actually she made two, she comes along to keep me safe and takes the photos :)

Yay for Ludo....clever little chap, he guessed them all - next ones won't be so easy.

Haulin' Rock!

Papa found two old dump trucks last weekend and thought a little boy just might get some use out of them. Sloan has been enjoying them ever since. Once he learned that you could load them with rocks and such and then dump them it kept him very busy.

Maybe this summer I can get him to haul weeds out of the flowerbeds for me!

Today I enjoyed the day spent at Country Collections where I taught a locker hooking class. The gals that took the class finished up both of their projects and did a beautiful job.

Two other sweet gals worked on a quilt and an apron.

Karen is the owner of Country Collections along with her Mom and always is busy getting lunch ready or cleaning up. If you are ever in Oklahoma and have time to visit their store in Moore, Okla. you'll simply be amazed at how jam-packed their store is with wool, fabrics, patterns, embroidery, needle punch, folk art painting supplies, and oh so much more!

Time to get back to hooking.

*~A Heart of Gold~*

Aunt Carrie & Aunt Teanie

I've been blessed many times over and family has been one of my greatest blessings. Today we celebrated the life of my great~aunt "Teanie" she was my grandma's sister on my Mom's side. One of the absolutely sweetest ladies you could ever know. She did not have a lot of worldly goods but she had a heart made of gold.

She loved to piece quilts and a lot were pieced by hand the old fashion way. She also loved to garden. She had more stamina than even a lot of young folks. I remember when my Grandma was living she called me one day and said me and sis took out a cabinet today and put in a new one. She was so proud that here they were in their 70's and still able to be as spry as a couple of young chicks!

I just visited with her a little over a week ago and although she was battling cancer she wanted to give me some cookies she had baked. You could never go visit her without leaving with something she baked or canned.

Today we had a farewell to say goodbye to one very special lady. Aunt Teanie you will truly be missed by many!

Sharron ~ Mom ~ Wendell

Uncle Gene will turn 90 this year!

Aunt Teanie's two lovable kiddo's....Wendell and Sharron

My great~uncle's Gerald, Bud, and Jack....Uncle Bud also turns 90 this year!

Wendell had my little niece Megan on her toes! Wendell is a huge cut~up and asked Megan "How does an elephant pick his nose" and Megan's response was "I'll have to ask my brother!" Sounded good to me.

It was a beautiful day to celebrate a life that touched so many.....Love ya and miss ya already Aunt Teanie!

Photos By Ryan Stewart

These photos were taken by Ryan Stewart at the Dales & Friends Meetup on Feb 15th. The top one is of me after an hour or so of chasing the ball. It was so great because complete strangers would throw balls for me! It's strange how some of the other Airedales thought the balls were being thrown for them! The bottom photo is me smiling for the camera. I thought Ryan asked ME to say "chewwwws" for the camera, but here he was taking a picture of Hootie playing puppy-jump with Marley! Marley's hooman mommy, Terry, really liked Hootie, so I think he was showing off for her. Hootie seemed to have a crush on Marley, and of course the doofus has no idea that he isn't half her size. I hope she breaks it to him easy and doesn't break his little Welshie heart. I better go now. I think a Merrick's Beef Bone is calling my name!!
