Look At The Sweet Stuff I Got In The Mail!!

This is Flat Sally Ann and me. You know she's my #1 sweetie, right?

She got me the upsome most cool card for V-Day. See all the kisses on it??

And here I am with Sally Ann's picture, enjoying one of the chewy treats she sent me.
She also got me this awesome lobster, which immediately had a squeekerectomy
performed by an Airedale who shall remain nameless.

Since Sally Ann sent 2 doggy treats I thought I had better give
the Airedale (who shall remain nameless) one.
She would have stolen it anyway, so it was better to appear magnanimous!

Here I am choosing my new lobster over the old one. The old one is missing all of it's stuffing and was in really bad shape. He was my favorite toy for quite some time, before BabyRD killed him. Mommy threw him away after I chose my new S.A.Lobster as my new favorite. RIP old friend.

All of this cool stuff pictured above was sent to me by Sally Ann from Atlanta, Georgia...my Welshie/Georgia Peach!! Sally's dear mama, Lisa, even sent my folks a little Valentine heart with hooman chocolates in it. Daddy ate most of them since he's the chocolate bear in our house. lol. The very best pressie of all that was in the package from Sally Ann was a headshot of my sweetie AND Flat Sally Ann herself. Awesomeness!! I held off on posting this until our MM2011 Costume Contest was all wrapped up. Just want to say to sweet Sally Ann: Thank you so much for all the great pressies and Thank you for being my Valentine!! You're the bestest WelshieGal a Welshie chap like I could ever wish for!!!

Lots of WelshieHug & Smooches to all my friends,
Hootie the Wonder Dog

Friends, Fun, and Treasures!

Lenexa Hook-In(left to right) Chelle, Sher, Me, Sandra, Betty, Pati, and Robin)

We had a wonderful time while visiting in Kansas and Missouri. Our first stop was at Betty's home and you couldn't have asked for a more warm welcome from such a dear friend and her family. Warm glazed pear muffins and pumpkin spice bread was served with iced tea. It was delicious.

Betty gave each of us a book she had covered with wool and each one was different.

It's an absolute treasure that is just priceless in my book! Love every detail of it. Thanks so much Betty!

On the backside of the cover.

Then Robin (Betty's sil) gave each of us a needle punched lil' box. She does such beautiful work. Another treasure that had me grinning from ear to ear. Thank you Robin.

Robin also gave me a beaded needle threader for my punch needle, a veggie dip mix, earrings, and a awesome smelling candle.

Betty also had a package for Sloan to open that she sent with me. He just loved the scooby doo shirt and coloring book.

Inside the package was also a new plate, cup, and bowl with How to Train a Dragon and of course he had to use them for breakfast and lunch today. Thank you Betty and Trinity....Sloan just loved it all.

Okay, I have tons of treasures to share. We not only went to the hook in but hit a couple of antique shops and an awesome shop called American Whatever.

First though I must say I just loved visiting with all the gals in the top picture. It was so good to finally meet Chelle. She has recently joined the eBay group I'm on AAPG and we had such fun getting to know one another.

Betty took time to show Pati how to cross stitch on linen and gave her some helpful hints.

Here is some of the treasures I came home with. Lots of wool, patterns, wool yarn, and a cookbook.

I'll share some of the great rugs that were at the hook-in tomorrow. It was such a fun trip and I enjoyed every minute of it with some really wonderful friends.

Ring Mountain Loop

Saturday morning. My usual backyard warmup before taking on the day.... I had hoped to wake up in the big snowy mountains...it was not to be. We did venture out for a local hike with views galore.
Ring Mountain Open Space Preserve.
This piece of Open Space is 367 acres, and home to a very unique geology and microclimate.
Grassy slopes, coastal oaks and rocks thought to once lay at the bottom of the ocean.
We could see far with today's clear skies. Looking toward San Quentin, we meandered to the top of this 602 ft. mountain.
Mt. Tamalpais in the distance, with it's own ever changing weather hovering above.
Rocks, like rasins in a batter are at every footstep and in all sizes. The soil here contains much serpentine, which hosts extensive wildflowers come spring.
Rounding this bend we were now headed east.
Dad lingered.
Passing by views of San Francisco, and closer are the towns of Tiburon & Belvedere Island.
Happy face.
An amazingly clear day!
Ahhhh! Thank you!
Always nice to get a hug from mom :)
We could really see the shape of the Tiburon Peninsula.
The Richmond Bridge appeared in the distance.
Shadows with us.
East Bay in the distance.
We had now made a full circle.
Passing by a favorite local climbing crag, called Split Rock.
Another look back through mustard grass towards the Richmond Bridge.
We finished our hike with smiles.
A bit of a magical local spot. Hope we can return here for the wildflower blooms.
Have a nice rest of the weekend friends!
