Had a few things to do today....

Mom and I have been making some weekday drives out to West Marin to do a few things for mom's family....it's a bit of a drive, but I always get to take a walkie upon arrival.... Woah...spotted a big fella up there in that tree!
Youza! Can't tell if he is looking at me, or the canyon below...
We saw fall colors!!!! So pretty.
And, lavenders in the garden. Sideways lavernders...opps.
Ok, so mom did her chores, and goodness! Our car was loaded! I had to sit next to mom. She pretty much buckled me in so I couldn't explore the mess of items in the back.
At least I had a nice view.... This is Nicasio Reservoir, a shallow made reservoir that covers 845 acres, created in 1961.
It's a beautiful site, but the building of this reservoir was surrounded by quite a bit of controversy: Owned by the Marin Municipal Water District (MMWD), the creation displaced a number of the area's larger historical family owned farms. The ongoing controversy stems from the fact that the water from the reservoir is rarely used by the MMWD, that the broad and shallow nature of the reservoir leads to quick evaporation, and that the dam has blocked valuable spawning areas for endangered species of salmon and steelhead.
We pass Nicasio Reservoir on our drive to and from our destination. We stopped for a few photos on our way home.
Passing by Big Rock Ranch. And, then on to a more local spot for another little walkie.
We can see lots of birds from the levy we are on. These are the Las Gallinas Wildlife Ponds which are (not as bad as it sounds...) also holding tanks for treated liquid waste.... No, it's not stinky. But, a nice walk for hoomans and doggies..lots of birdies, sometimes otters... Ya, just don't want to go swimming!
I had lots of sounds to identify on this walk....ducks, geese, white pelicans...
They are all over! This is a 3.5 mile trail, but we just did a little today. Well....I was slightly tempted to see if these guys would want to play, but mom said 'no'. Ok mom. Bye bye birdie pals.
See you all again soon!
