This was me last Friday. We had found a great little hike out of Kennedy Meadows (Stanislaus National Forest) off Highway 108. It was a beautiful walk after a long drive to the mountains.

We began our hike along Kennedy Creek and through the neat
Kennedy Meadows Resort.

I was ready to jump right in!!! However...we had a bit of hiking to do first.

Mmmmmm! I'll be back for some yummies :)

We passed through the cabins and camping areas and headed out on a lovely flat trail...

Our first big view!! And, wow!
Mt. Levitt 10,800ft in the far background. We took our time walking through the meadow.

Found this neat bridge....too bad folks felt like writing on it :(

The trail started heading UP! It was bouldery! Luckily, I'm pretty good at rock hoppin'.

High above the creeks at this point.

This was our turn around point after many "let's just see what's around the next corner...."s. As it was getting late in the day we needed to head back...but this area was a new one to us and quite beautiful.

Our hike down the rocky trail.

Didn't want to step too close to that edge!

We met a pack group that had been riding about 7 hours from their campsite farther in the Emigrant Wilderness. I was so patient while this group passed...there were a lot of them too. A few riders thanked me for sitting quietly.

Ah! We finally found our way back to the water and a lovely beach!!

So ready to SOAK :)

While I navigated a new found stickie, mom's good friend and climbing partner
enjoyed the views and examined our topo map.

Ah! Nice stickie.

This past weekend was the annual
Pinecrest Climb-In that mom attends. After our hike, we headed back to our cabin in Pinecrest.....more on this another time...but will just say there were great pals and super company!!

Happy week friends.
